In a first of its kind, a collaborative partnership between VicRoads, Launch Housing, Homes Victoria and Schored Projects, 57 transportable homes, that can be transported to an alternative site with ease,  have been delivered for person's at risk of homelessness. 
These featured cantilevered storage space, mezzanine windows for ventilation and additional light, homes for everything from clothes to cutlery and the much desired capacity for residents to bring their pet.

Winner - Leading Housing Development Project Victoria, 2017 Australasian Housing Institute Awards

“Schored Projects’ Coburg Townhouses buoys optimism and sets a new benchmark for community housing for women.” ArchitectureAU


The design objective was to provide multiple external space options to the residents including the shared walkway designed as a communal open space with seating, productive landscaping and bike storage. It was equally as important that the homes be secure and acoustically separated from the adjacent train line and bicycle path.

Schored Projects combined insights from the voices of lived experience with research to provide industry with a detailed, illustrated, best practice design guide for Older Women’s Housing, Co-created with Monash University XYX Lab.
