We carefully consider how people use spaces. We add clever details that deliver great amenities for residents and the wider neighbourhood and make houses feel like homes. Adaptability is central to our designs. This allows people to find joy in their spaces and stay in their homes, and therefore their community, as the household changes over time. With thoughtful design analysis and considered site and dwelling planning we often find ways for northern light to deeply penetrate internal and external living spaces during winter months and be controlled on hot summer days.&nbsp; We expand internal space by drawing the landscape inside. Deliberately designing fenestrations and private open spaces with views to borrowed neighbouring landscapes, including mature trees, parklands and distant hills, expands the space beyond its footprint. We take as much pleasure in the process of creating architectural and landscape solutions as we do in the built outcome. We build relationships with clients through listening, collaboration and a shared enjoyment of the design process. Our work is not driven by a defined aesthetic, we prefer to tailor solutions to the site context and our clients’ needs. We are motivated by the challenge of avoiding waste during design, construction and throughout the lifetime of the completed project. Schored creates outcomes that make people feel comfortable, uplifted and connected to their surroundings. As a practice we have a strong remit to pursue a social agenda and regularly contribute our knowledge and skills to charitable and pro-bono projects.
