NGV Competition

“Precarious’ is a collaboration between Schored Projects and Monash University’s XYX Lab for the 2021 NGV commission competition.
“Precarious.” speaks to the need for Melburnians to reflect on the vulnerability of women in cities, and to acknowledge a shared responsibility to activate and agitate for change and equity.
By giving form to the lived experience of homelessness the precarious field captures womens’ lived experience through written and oral stories are captured in pattern, and the geometric shadows of light. Women’s stories spill out in the multi-modal territory of precariousness. This is an anti-memorial, and a landscape driven proposal that immerses the public into a field of difficult conversations about precarity, architecture and dignity.
