Boral Competition

Our concept for this competition marries three equally important philosophies; environmental sustainability, materiality and liveability. We believe that the success of a project relies on their harmonious resolution.

The proposal approaches sustainability holistically, through the application of the three ‘R’ principles; Retain, Re-use and Recycle. In response, the design retains most of the existing fabric (walls, floors, windows and doors) and re-uses existing trusses, doors and stair treads in new locations. This sustainable approach to material usage reduces the amount of new materials required in the project. Apartment planning and additional occupant amenities provides high quality liveability.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to ancestors, country and community.
We pay our respects to their Elders both past and present and to their enduring cultures.
